- Cambridgeshire County Council bridge maintenance scheme
- Cambridge Scaffolding team
This was another very high profile project that was carried out in the centre of Cambridge; Scaffolding was required on the bridge to enable works to take place to replace the poisonous lead paint. The footpath and waterway were closed to all public traffic for the duration of the project, giving us full access to the site to carry out the installation.
750mm beams in clusters were used to provide the infrastructure to take the working platforms and tin roof; the scaffolding was built in accordance with engineers drawings and calculations that we provided as part of our full package. Full encapsulation of the bridge was also required to ensure old paint debris did not enter the watercourse.
The scheme was a complete success and the bridge was reopened to the public on schedule.
